I'm hoping it will fly needs a lot of work, but I don't know anything about it. need a radio system. has for servos so I'm thinking 4 channel. This is my first plane and I don't know to much.

gREAT PRICE, AND IT LOOKS LIKE A NICE PLANE, BUT THERE IS NO WAY YOU SHOULD USE THAT IF YOU'RE A NEWBIE

Opps sorry about the caps.

That is an old style pattern plane. You'll love it once you're good at flying, but it is a very fast, and totally non-forgiving airplane.

It would be like learning to drive a car with an indy racer

What he said for sure! Put it aside, enjoy looking at it and get yourself a trainer plus an INSTRUCTOR!

Looks like a classic pattern ship which are loads of fun but will fly for +/- 3 seconds if you try it on your own being new.

Go get that trainer - there's tons of great info. here on where to start.

Hey KAOS, how does a plane fly for -3 seconds?:D Gonna fly back through time? It can't be that fast can it?

RE: I got this for $20 bucks.

Yes, you got a great deal!

But don't try to fly it for a few years

This is a great sport, but you can't just go out and buy a plane and fly it - Well, you CAN, but like Kaos said, it will last about 3 seconds

Every town has a club with a field and they will teach you how to fly. But they won't even THINK about teaching you with that plane.

Yes it is

RE: I got this for $20 bucks.

Yes it is a aerobatic pattern plane. I am a newbie and have 2 pattern planes that I look forward to flying (in the future) That is one of my goals to get one of these flying by the end of the summer. But if I am not sure I can handle it they will wait till next year. Looks like a good deal that I would have jumped at. The engine alone is worth more than what you paid.

Get a trainer plane and instructor and happy flying.

I've put together a list of planes that make good trainers and second planes. All of them on the list are proven planes that are well suited for successfully letting students learn to fly, or advance to a second plane. Check out the list here

Hope this helps

Hi comerford2, you got a fantastic deal, especially at todays prices.
But do as the other guys said, if this plane you have has sparked your interest enough, get a trainer to learn on.
you already have the engine and servos already to to put in a first plane.
My first plane was the Nexstar Select by Hobbico. http://www.hobbiconexstar.com/hcaa2025.html
It cost me 4 bills but came ready to fly except fuel and engine starting gear. including the transmitter.
The best part for me was it comes with a simulator so you can practice the basics, Take off, landing, especially manuvering the plane when it is coming toward you, were you have to use opposite controls when steering.
If you do get a simulator, you will still need real hands on flying practice with a trainer because the real thing evolves more than the sim can help you with.
I had the help of an instructor and and i still have that Nexstar plane in the corner of my hobby room.
It has a couple repair spots on it but still very flyable. Never did seriously crash it.
Anyway start off right with an instructor and you will have a much better first experience.

Wow! Wish I'd run into a few deals like that. Couple of things really struck me was the in-line fuel filter and the tie wraps on the terminations. People who pay that much attention to detail, take care of their planes.

Either you have a very good friend, or somebody needed quick cash.

Also find out what size engine that is, it looks like it could be a 60 size or so.
You could still train with that engine but i would not use it on a 40size plane, nor while training ever see full throttle.
A 40 size engine is good to train with. A 60 size has alot more power.

Far right picture......just under the fuel line.......61?

The plane kind of looks like a Great Planes Ultra Sport. I had a 40 size, this may be the 60???

It's also fine just to mention the name of the person you are addressing. In that case nobody will pay attention to the "in reply to" part.

Have you removed the wing, in the first picture looks like a receiver antenna along top of the fuse? Maybe the lady still has the transmitter for it?
