Webra engine?
 

Can anyone tell me what engine this is I can't find any info on there wedsite about it? Also is this a decent engine for a SSE?

Beyond it being a Webra 6.5 CCM I have no data.

Try emailing them at: [email protected] and see if they can pull up some old data for you. this is an oldie too.

What you have there is an Austrian made WEBRA engine, the 6.5 Cubic Centimeters translates roughly into a 40 sized engine.

IF that engine has been well taken care of it is a precision piece of gear that will easily give 10 + years of service.

It is not a screamer but it will deliver some 13.5K RPM all day long and power most Sport AC quite nicely.

You didn't show a muffler with it - or any other photos -I'm hoping that there is no hidden damage etc - the joys of used equipment. :eek:

When I was researching on Google I noticed several places that appeared to have mufflers for this engine if you need one.

Thanks Bruce I will prolly get a pitts style if there is one out there. I want to mount the engine at 90 degrees on a SSE so that exhaust dumps down.

That lady bought good engines.

You can contact the good muffler Manufacturers and see what they have to offer.

this is what I believe is refered to as the SILVERLINE Series by Webra . NON schnerele engine( loop scavenged) with the TN carb. & very good runner.

I might like to add that it is the Webra silverline 40. I have one almost exactly like it. Bought it new years ago and just haven't done anything with it.. looking for a nice 40 size plane to put it in right now. :)

About the same power as an OS 40 LA if it is in good condition.

10x6 or 11x4 prop.

That depends on you and your level of flying.

The Sig Somethin' Extra is a VERY Aerobatic AC it is not a model for beginners - yet here we are in the 'Beginners' Forum discussing it.

The 6.5 ccm Webra engine will fly a 40 sized SSE and as such you will be happy in the beginning as you master the AC and it's capabilities.

Once you feel confident with this, you will have the option to 'up' the engine to expand your abilities. You will have to expand your wallet too. ;)

This $26.00 Webra will be a great starter, after that you may consider a 46 or 52 sized engine that is tuned for more power - but don't be in a hurry - plenty of planes have died from people trying to go too fast, too soon. [&o]

I am still building my trainer at this point. But once its done I need to find something to do on rainy days so I figured I would build a plane for that engine. Trust me I will not get ahead of myself with flying it takes to much time and money to build these planes to go and do something stupid before I am ready. Thanks for all the help guys any other suggestions on a plane for this engine would be great. I am more about the sport and scale planes than the warbirds.
