Fuel cap.

Is it just me? I ordered this and it came with no directions. Is the short one the vent? How do you cap it to protect the fuel? You could run the line from the pump to it until you are ready to fill the tank. But when you pull the line off you have no adapter to hook up to the tanks fuel line. And after all that it really does no matter because it does not fit my fuel jug. I thought all these gallon jugs were the same?

I was trying to type more and edit the reply because it looked rude after I submitted it.

The threaded holes in the cap should have an external fitting with a line going to the pump inlet, and an internal fitting with a clunk line going to the bottom of the jug or can.

The line from the pump outlet connects to the nozzle that has the o-rings. This nozzle goes in the other opening in the cap to seal the system when you're not filling or draining your tank.

I pulled the photos from Chief's site becasuse the "sort of" show the assembly.

Do you then pull out that nozzle every time and hook it to your tank line?
It has a small o ring to seal it but the large black o ring in the picture does not seem to do anything.
Your post did not come across rude. Thanks.

The large black o-ring on the nozzle is there to give your fingers something to grab onto when you're pulling that nozzle out. I have that same cap from Slimline, works very well.
Do you still have the orig packing? Look under that cardboard flap that's stapled to the bag it ships in, the assembly instructions are on a small piece of paper attached to the underneath of it.

Thanks for the info. I still have everything so I can send it back. However, there are no instructions on the cardboard packaging. Thanks.
