What engine for a 1/4 scale Ryan STA?

I have a Byron 1/4 scale Ryan STA, 90"ws approx weight 18-20lbs. Need suggestions for engine, I want a 4 cycle but popular vote is for a gasser, what size and brand would fit? Cost is not a big factor, thanks. Supposedly the 18x8 or 18x10 props are suggested I believe. Bought kit 12 years ago, basically its my first time at this except for a 50" Eaglet :D

Would the Saito just be borderline capable? I was looking at them and it looked to me like it was slightly under power, is it comparable to the Supertgre 3000 in output?

I have a 160 twin thats going to fly an 18lb plane and I'm not worried. The Saito 180 has twice the power. I don't know much about the ST 3000. The Saito will be easier to fit under the cowl I think.

I am still a 46 year old newbie with a huge 12 year old Byron kit, its all there and in great shape, so the Saito 180 has more power or because its a 4 cycle has more torque? maybe a gass engine would be better and cheaper? the Fuji looks like a good engine, reason is I saw the going prices of the 180, ouch!

ZDZ 40 or 50 would be nice, though without unlimited vertical. I have an ST3000 in an 18.5 lb Gee Bee Y and it flies well, though it could use a little more power. You'll save a ton of money in the long run with a gasser. The Saito 180 chugs glow fuel.
