well maybe no after all. your wingspan is too short. maybe it was built as a 'clipped wing'?

Thanks all. Looking at it....I do think it is a Midwest Aerostar...probably the one plane I didn't compare the picture to. Wingspan might have been provided in error.

there was an aerostar 20 that had a span of 52 1/2 inches

This does look like the Midwest Aerostar but it also looks like it has been modified by a more experienced pilot/builder. It apears the dihedral was significantly reduced or eliminated and the horizontal stab has been raised to be more inline with the thrust line.
