Please help me identify this engine

1 Attachment(s)
I got an engine with a big "S" on the left side that I can't identify. I bet it's a nitro engine.
Here's the observed specs:
head diameter: 330mm
Height from base of mount point to top of head: 600mm
Total height: 750mm
Muffler screws seperation distance from center-to-center: 350mm
Carb inlet diameter: 90mm ID, 110mm OD
total shaft length: 830mm

Here's a pic of it next to a gms .25
As near as I can tell, Saito only does 4-strokers. I think it's a 2-stroker, so I don't think it's a saito.

I think you'll find a much better response in the Glow Engine forum as far as engine identification goes (some of the threads there are a history lesson :)). Also, I think your measurements need to be scaled down by 10. I'm guessing the reality is more like this:

head diameter: 33.0mm (3.3 cm)
Height from base of mount point to top of head: 60.0mm (6.0 cm)
Total height: 75.0mm (7.5 cm)
Muffler screws seperation distance from center-to-center: 35.0mm (3.5 cm)
Carb inlet diameter: 9.0mm ID, 11.0mm OD
total shaft length: 83.0mm (8.3 cm)

P.S.: Any little cast numbers on the carburetor, backplate, or crankcase can be very helpful. Some engine don't have those anywhere though.

HTH

Oops, you're right about the measurements.
It's got a "Made in Taiwan 3" on the backplate.
Where is the nitro engine forum? I searched the forum page for "engine" and couldn't find anything.
Thanx!

Hopefully that link works. You may not have selected the engine forums for your "My Forums" list and they are not being shown. That can be fixed by switching into all forums view using the buttons at the top of the page.

Ok, this has been reposted in the Glow Engines forum so I'm going to close this one.
