alright guys and girls give me some help i have a hobbico im flying for awhile now takes off fine and somewhat of a short distance. i floated it in the other day and pretty hard landing hit once on wheels then nosed over broke a prop and that was it. took theplane back put another 10x7 prop on and checked the plane over no damage checked it over good. taxied out and it would not take off the ground so brought it back put a tach on the engine and at full throttle getting around 11,500 to 12,000 rpms so some of the other guys took alook at it and said looks fine we took it back out and held the tail of the plane went to full power and let it go and applied small amounts of up elevator finally i was a full up elevator before it took off so i brought it back around and landed it and it sits in my shop now im dumb founded at what could be wrong all servos are fine, and the guys around the fild say the engine rpms are fine so what gives anybody know thanks mike

has the firewall moved and you now have doown thrust?

go to a lower pitch prop,don't know what brand of props you are using but some brands[master airscrew]are not the same even though they are stamped the same,you may get three props from the same maker with the same pitch number but all three may be different,I've had the best luck with APC props as being close to the markings on each prop.

the firewall is still the same i use master airscrew and top flite power point i will try a lower picth prop thanks

Hi armyrcer,also check to be sure the c/g is the same,nothing has move forward making it nose heavy.

you have plenty of power to get off the ground. 11K on a 10 x 7 isn't the problem.

Is the nose gear bent so that the plane is pointed quite a bit down? Check your radio. Maybe the servo rail came loose so that the air going over the elevator is pushing it back down. There is something SERIOUSLY WRONG if you can't get the plane off the ground at all.

Really take the time to check it over thoroughly. If you do get it into the air and there is a problem, consider the damage that could be done.

You said you fly on Army posts, correct? I just got out not too long ago and can tell you that if you fly it through a hmmwv, you'll not be a happy soldier. :)

Does the plane have ground speed ? if it performs on the ground then it not likely to be the prop , but in some form or another it is a control surface or CG problem , what type of control rods do you use , ? if they are flexing at speed , even though you have full stick input they may not be at full deflection

If you're using a radio with dual rates, check the position of the dual rate switch. Check your firewall again, it's possible it's loose and you haven't caught it yet, I have superstar RTF and after a very light hit to the nose, the firewall came completely loose, it's not glued in very well. Does the plane perform well after it gets airborne? Is the grass cut short enough at your flying field? Grass that's too long will slow engine rpm and slow down takeoff roll speeds, reduced speed would make your elevator inputs less responsive. If the plane performs fine after takeoff, then you may just trying to rotate the airplane too soon. That's if for me hope it helps.

thanks you for all the input im going to use caution and replace the pushrods, and remove the engine and go over the firewall wall again then check the cg again it was fine that was checked also but there has to be something wrong somewhere im just overlooking it again thanks everyone for the help mike

I have an Avistar that was terrible on the runway in a take off roll. It was so difficult to steer and take off my instructor had problems. I had already made 10-15 landings before we made some adjustments in the engine incidence. We found that the engine was pointed down 4*, if you have had trouble and damaged the firewall on top of it this could be the problem. We reset the downthrust to -1/2 to 1* and right about 2-3*, it flies great now and the takeoffs are much easier.

I'm with CafeenMan, If your nose gear bent back causing the plane to sit nose-down, that could cause your problem. Especially if you're flying from grass.

Check that first.
