LT-40 Taildragger Conversion Success! ?? Though
I am so impressed with myself (patting myself here). My conversion came out pretty good, I installed the servo, the pull-pull system and everything is working pretty good. I have a question though. On eht rudder servo (when looking down into the fuse at the servo) I have the pull-pull links going to the furthest inside hole to the center. I had to do this because I am afraid of interference with the rudder push rod. I am still afraid I won't have enough room. My question is this..
When I move the rudder control on my radio all the way to the left, the clevis hits the round portion of the servo control horn (near the center of the servo) and pushes my dubro clevis outward, I hope you all can picture this. It does not bind, it just pushes it outward, this happens at about 90% travel. What's funny is, the other side does not do this at all. I am thinking this is due to the kevlar position. Should I live with it? Or is there something I can do? I have shaved down the servo control horn as much as possible to try to eliminate this, but to no avail, it still does it.. |

There are a few solutions to this problem. Replacing the clevis with a "Z" Bend is one. Or you can bend the clevis towards the servo just a degree or two to keep it from hitting the wheel.

2-56 ball links would be another solution.
