Hi guys its Elvir from Croatia , I just went to my first F3A event and places 5 out of 7 . I was happy with the result with my tower kaos .I did not know any of the maneuvers until a few day before the event, now I like it . I was planning to do a multi engine but now I have changer my mind. To the guys that fly F3A I would like to build a U CAN DO 3D 60 with a OS 90 4 stroke or a saito 100 , any suggestions on a better combination or a better plane of that sort .

my dad has a U-Can-Do-3D 60 with a Saito 91 and it floats like a feather. But in the wind its a handfull, even for my dad that's been flying 8 years or something like that.
But else it seems like a real nice plane.

Hi!
If you would like to compete in F3A aerobatics I would strongly suggest that you choose another airplane then the You -Can -Do .60
The You-Can-Do is a 3D airplane which means it is good att hoovering manuevers and other slow flying 3D manouvers: It's not really a good pattern airplane. If you want a F3A airplane there are other airplanes more suitable for aerobatics.

For F3A flying the U Can Do has larger control surfaces than most common pattern planes. Also the floating in the wind
will cost points in the straight line and vertical manuevers. For a .50 size ship the Spot on 50 wit ha .61 is a great plane
that should fly the sportsman and intermediate schedules quite nicely. For a larger plane the Venus II is exceptional patternship
especially when combined with the OS 120 AX.

I have no clue what F3A is, but the U-Can-Do-3D is still a nice plane just to fly around for fun and i think that its the plane that my dad learned most of his 3D on.

F3A is precision aerobatics also known as pattern. You fly a schedule of prescribed maneuvers and a panel of judges grades your flight, like compulsary figure skating with airplanes.

hello again thanks for your coments , i did look at the Venus II . will it work good with a 4 stroke. also is the Venus II good for the free flight 3D at the end of compotition?

Venus II would be fine with a 1.10-1.20 4 stroke. WIth less engine it will not have an unlimited vertical climb.
You will not need unlimited vertical until you get into intermediate, but even in sportsman it will help with
power hungry maneuvers. Also the larger size of the Venus makes it easier to fly and it presents well to
the judges. I have never seen a venus do 3D maneuvers so I can't speak for it's freestyle capablilities.

If you want a plane that can do pattern and 3D well, get a Showtime 4D .90 from Hangar 9. use a Saito 1.25 or larger for power and have fun. Keep it light and use DOUBLE the recommended servo specs.

my next door neighbor has a showtime and i flys great too.
