first lesson
I flew the arrow 2 times with the buddy box yesterday,it was unnerving to say the least on the first flight, the second was better(2 loops and some figure 8's) until the instructor landed and we found the carb hold down bolt/drawbar had been lost in flight,I was through for the day.[&o]
the replacement is coming from HH as I type (I hope). It will be instaled with blue locktite as will the other bolts on the evo trainer motor there were mutiple crashes at our field yesterday(wendy early, calmed some later),one fellow crashed 2 planes and my instructor totaled his super sport [:o]avoiding a midair. He had a better disposition than I would/could have had, just said stuff happens:) |

RE: first lesson
It is a GREAT feeling RCKen I can't wait until next weekend:D
Yeah,Wayne said that you have to leave your feelings at the gate as far as crashes go as everyone will have one sometime, its just a matter of time ;) |
RE: first lesson
Kens right on the money. When I first started it was hard not to worry about crashing, and I still get a little nervous some times about it. But enjoy the hobby much more by realizing crashes are part of it.
Now when it happens my biggest concern is if I got to climb a tree or use a 1/2 gallon of bug spray to be able to retrieve it. Congrats on getting airborne , Before long , you`ll be telling the new guy, stuff happens. |
RE: first lesson
Flying a glow trainer is harder than it looks when you've never done it before. It takes some time on the sticks to build up the muscle memory needed for smooth, controlled movements.
Every flight is still a rush though, even a few hundered flights after having solo'd! :D |
RE: first lesson
All of the guys at our club joke about crashing. theres one that if you ask him if he flys RC airplanes he'll say "no, i crash them. But everyone else flys them, most of the time."
