Epoxy in small hole
 

How would I be able to get Epoxy in a 5/32" hole? i am trying to reinforse landing gear blocks without opening up a wing. I a massuming that epoxy is drillable. is it?

You can warm up the epoxy with a heat gun and it will run better into the hole. The extra heat will also quicken up the drying time of the epoxy, so be careful. You can drill epoxy, however it must be fully dry and you need to start with a small bit and work up to the size that you want. Good Luck, Dave

Take a toothpick, lay it in the epoxy for a bit , rotate it a few times to coat it on all sides, stick it in the hole and reverse the operation, will do a great job of lining the hole

Ro, I had the same type of problem with my Tiger 60 as I drilled the holes for the landing gear too large.
This caused alot of slop. A quick fix is to drill the hole a bit larger like 5/16 and put someting on the bottom
keep the epoxy from dripping out so that it fills the hole, then redrill to the size of the gear. this will allow the repair to be a
bit stronger. another easy fix would be to drill the existing hole to 5/16 then go to home depot/lowes, and get
a 5/16 hardwood dowel and epoxy into the hole, drill the dowel to the size of the landing gear, this is what I did
and it is extremely strong.

Put masking or other tape on the back of the hole so it doesn't leak out but can easily be drilled thru if needed.

Mix a small amount of 30 min epoxy (pref in a cup) and using a small straw CAREFULLY draw (suck) some epoxy into the straw. Place straw into hole and either blow or squeeze out the epoxy into the hole. Have rag with alcohol handy in case you need to wipe up drips.

I like the dowel idea. sounds pretty bulletproof. kinda like what we would do in metal working to fill a hole that you don't want.
