RE: 4 stroke fuel?

I have been using 10-15% in my 2 stroke engines. Someone suggest 0% at the fly field due to overheating?

Thought I'd ask here.

Use the Omega 15%, Cool Power 15%, Power Master 15%, etc. You want at least 17% lube, 18% to 20% is better. The 15% nitro has run very well in all of my four strokes. Saito 45 through Mag 91. I've got an O.S. 1.20 on the shelf and it will get the same.

I use the same (10% nitro, 18% oil) fuel that I put in my 2-stroke engines... never had a problem so far.

OS suggests using fuel with 5-15% nitro and at least 18% oil 20% being better sinthetic is OK a little castor is good but not necessary.
I run Powermaster10%nitro18%oil and my engines run great in the 2st as well as the 4-4st engines that I use in my planes.

You'll find that 4-strokes need 10 to 15% nitro or they will not run properly.

I use 15% Cool Power and never had a problem with it.

RE: 4 stroke fuel?

My 4stroke was a bear to start. People then shared the advice that 4strokes need nitro to start. I was told that 15% was the minimum that could be relied on.

One of the guy's 4strokes shut off on low motor a lot one day. The 4stroke experts told him that 4strokes won't stay warm enough without enough nitro and without a special 4stroke glowplug.

RE: 4 stroke fuel?

yes you need a special 4-stroke plug :)
Since the engine fires every other stroke, the glow plug is more prone to cool down than in a 2-stroke engine.
nitro helps in this regard as well, but it is not obligatory. My engines are fine with just 10% nitro.

Yeah with the right plug, after break in, I'm getting very low reliable idles on my four strokers using 10% Nitro fuel.

Powermaster 15/20 in all my four strokers.

RE: 4 stroke fuel?

Powermaster 20/20 It is worth the extra for the reliable idle in my inverted 4 strokes
