HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 Attachment(s)
after crashing my plane i rebuilt it and finaly tried it today. bearing in mind im a beginer and it was windy but just couldnt wait. i wasnt happy the way it flew i managed to trim the airelons to keep the wings level but it took all my elavator to keep the back up it did go in to a hover (straight Nose up and tail down) for about 10 seconds until i managed to get it back in control and land it. ive checked the cg and it is more nose heavy if anything. so im just wondering if it could have been the wind that held it vertical or something wrong with the plane.
high wing trainer wingspan 6 feet engine sc .75 prop 11/7 (no spinner) overall lengh 55 inches |
RE: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You mentioned you are a beginner, so my question is how did you check the CG?
Was the wind constant? Did it try to 'hover' throughout your flight back to the runway or only when facing into the wind? |

However, since you just rebuilt it, it's also possible that something else is wrong. This could include CG, which you said you already checked, the incidence of the wing and/or horizontal stab, or even the angle of the firewall. Before you try flying it again, it would be good to have an experienced person check these things. |
RE: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've landed trainers and sig fazers in myday straight down with a constant wind at near zero ground run.

RE: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To me, the obvious questions are: What areas of the plane required repair and what kinds of repair were made? What glues were used where and types of wood.

RE: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when you checked the cg was the fuel tank empty? are you flying with the cg in the front of the cg range?
