DX7 - buzzing sound - normal?
Hi. I got my DX7 yesterday. When I turn it on, there is a low, buzzing / quick clicking type sound. Is this normal?

RE: DX7 - buzzing sound - normal?
Foosball,
First of all, are the servos in the plane with the pushrods connected?? If so remove the pushrods and see of they still buzz. If they still buzz you have something wrong with the servo. Second, are they the digital servos that ship with the Spektrum? If so it is normal for a digital servo to "buzz" when in the neutral position. You don't have anything to worry about here with them buzzing. If they are not digital servos, and they buzz with the pushrods connected you have something wrong with your control surface setup that is creating pressure and pushing/pulling on the servo. You will need to troubleshoot what is causing this. Ken |

I think he is talking about the controler buzzing not the servos.

If the transmitter is buzzing then there is something wrong with it. You need to contact where you purchased it from and arrange to return it for a replacement.

I just got mine yesterday as well and turned the switch on to see the battery voltage. I heard a soft humming sound coming from it but it wasn't buzzing.

Hmm.. I don't hear a thing from my DX7. Ever. I do hear it when the receivers lock on, but other than that, mine is quiet.. but then, my girlfriend always tells me I'm deaf.. well, selectively deaf that is.. ha..oops.

In the radio forums they talk about this frequently. It seems to be fairly common and nobody seems to worry about it much once discussed. Search the JR forum and "RC Radios, Transmitters, Receivers, Servos, gyros" forum for threads.

Thanks bruce88123 .
I went to the hobby shop and we listened to 3 DX7s. Didn't hear any noise; however, the room was pretty loud. I'll need to take mine up there to double check, but it sounds like it's pretty normal, although it didn't seem like the sound was associated with the speaker. |
RE: DX7 - buzzing sound - normal?
I don't know if it's all supposedly coming from the speaker or not. Don't know what else it could be though.

RE: DX7 - buzzing sound - normal?
My DX7 makes a low buzzing/humming sound. Same sound my laptop makes when i turn the wireless on. I know they are both on 2.4GHz so it may be normal. I've flown several times with my DX7 with NO problems whatsoever.

Don't worry about it, it is the voltage regulator inside the DX7 TX that is making the noise, some are slightly louder than others. |
