Redneck Engine test stand

1 Attachment(s)
ok we arnt red necks, i doubt most could afford a fiji water bottle for a gas tank, but we did build one awsome engine stand out of recycled products mostley. a large block of wood, two saw horses, gas tank is fiji water bottle of course, a car battery cut off switch for the throttle.we stuck a couple of old radio antanna in the lid of the bottle for the gas line. and pressure tap, we had a black 1/3 in gas line on the end of the muffler exhaust to deflect the exhaust and a pepsi can nailed to the side of the wood, with the exhaust position inside of it. did this so we wouldnt get oil on us when running anyway enjoy

Where did you get the clamps that hold the engine?
Nice test bench btw.

That machined test stand looks pretty Beverly hills to me, not exactly redneck. Did you machine it yourself or is it one of the commercial ones? Looks like a real quality unit.

The flannel shirt in pic one helps add to the redneck image. I didn't see the pepsi can. That engine mount is way too nice for this stand. Pitch that for some rusty hunk of metal with some mount holes. Next time include pics of the Z-28 Camaro up on blocks with four foot high grass growing up around and your trailer in the background it to add to the realism.

Too funny!

Whatcha got against rednecks? If y'all ask me, I reckon that's a waste of some good saw horsies. They're better suited for holdin up the couch on the front porch. That's what my cousin/uncle/brother-in-law Jim Bob (we just call him bubba) says.

Seriously, it looks like it works, was cheap, and environmentally friendly.

Nice setup, but I am just curious if that severely bandaged finger is a sign of needing to invest in a chicken stick or an electric starter :D

Very nice, just wondering, does that engine mount have anything (like pins) to keep the engine from sliding out, because if it doesn't and those clamps come loose.....:)[8D][&:]:([>:][X(][&o][:-][:o][:'(][:@];):D:D

lol we were expecting someone to bring this up, we use a broom handle to start the engine with (trying to invest in an exotic sex toy to strap to the end its gonna be a riot at the feild)

Nothin against rednecks i just knew that alot of people would be interested in our first test stand if we gave it a good subject line.

yeah that and the engine are just about the only thing that arnt realy red neck, we were using an air line (for like an aqaurium air pump) for the gas lines for a while till we found those.

we took the pepsi can and 1/3 inch gas line off to make it look just a little more professional, long before i thought i would be given it a name like "red Neck"

I'm glad my test stand isn't considered redneck to much. And always rember to use a chicken stick, the master airscrew props are very sharp and do hurt a bit when they slice your fingure from a kick back.

The engine Mounting Stand was purchased on ebay a year or so ago for 40 bucks or so. I was going to post the sellers site on here so people could go to it, but unfortunatly are no longer on ebay or have a web site anymore.

we are thinking of upgrading to the rusty hunk of metal, [8D] and the supposed "Z-28 Camaro on blockes with four foot high grass growing through the hood" was a 1957 thunder bird that was sold and replaced with a "slide in camper" which does not have any grass growing underneath it .(couple weeds but think there bout dead to):D

I got a 3/4 ton suburban with a 454 that dont run if you need to borrow one. Its not Z28 but it is achevy and that engine would be oh so very sweet in a camaro.
