Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
I must be missing something basic here, but I'm frustrated and need help. If you have to slap me, fine. Just help me figure out what I'm missing.
Objective: Use a pair of servos to operate a split elevator using mixes, preferably ch 2 (elevator) and ch 5. It's a 7 ch Futaba receiver. Mix Display: MIX> ON MAS> 2:Elev SLV> 5:Gear Link> ON Trim> ON Switch> H Posi> NULL I have the left elev half plugged into ch 2. That's the master. I have the slave elev servo plugged into channel 5, that's the slave. I get nothing from the slave servo. All other mixes are off. What am I missing? |
RE: Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
You have Ailevator mix, just enable it and set the aileron percentage to 0. |
RE: Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
Ailevator requires using Channel 8.
I'm using a lower end reciever with only 7 channels. (It's not a high-priority airplane, so I'm using leftover stuff.) The manual says you can mix this in, but I'm not having any luck figuring out how. |
RE: Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
is switch H on? I don't mean flipped to the on position I mean turned on on the computer
|
RE: Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
Well... From what I gather in the manual, if I select "Null" position at the bottom of the screen (from my first post) then the radio should think the mix is always on. Right?

RE: Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
if it were me... I would try the ailevator mix and then mix ch 8 to ch 7

You need to go to into the AUX-CH screen. It is the second screen on the basic menu. Make channel 5 say NULL. Otherwise CH-5 still thinks it is a gear channel.
David BTW you do have a % mixed in don't you? If your mix is 0% it isn't going to move anyway. |

I want to set up two servos to operate a single surface, but not use a preset feature like flaperons or ailevators to do so. How can I do this with a mix? You can use a free mix to set up the twin elevator servos, or any other two-servo combination by simply doing a pmix of the primary channel to the secondary channel at 100% with trim on and link on, offset off and switch assignment NULL so that the mix is always active. Here is an example of mixing 2 to 7: A. Standard mix from 2 to 7 to work twin elevators: ___ Press Mode (twice if needed) to open Advanced Menu ___ Dial up or down to a free Programmable Mix and press Dial to select ___ Cursor Down twice and turn dial LEFT to activate mix ___ Cursor Down and turn Dial to select channel 2 (elevator) ___ Cursor Down and turn Dial to select channel 7 (Aux1) ___ Cursor Down and turn Dial left to turn Link ON ___ Cursor Down and turn Dial left to turn Trim ON ___ Cursor Down twice and confirm switch position is NULL ___ Cursor Down, pull positive elevator, and turn Dial Left to -100% ___ Push negative elevator, and turn Dial Left to -100% ___ Press End twice to close Menu B. Turn off default control of channel 7 in Aux-Ch screen so VRC does not affect the second elevator servo. ___ Press Mode Button (twice if needed) to open Basic menu ___ Turn Dial up or down and Press to select Aux Ch ___ Press Cursor Twice and then turn Dial left until reads CH7 NULL ___ Press End twice to close Menu |
RE: Can't program a mix on the Fut 9cap
Between Deadeye and Dave's input, I got it to work.
Not quite sure what did the trick, but it's working. I tried the Ch 7 trick, Exeter, no luck. Thank you for the help, guys. [8D] |
