Yellow Bee RC plane
I bought one of these RC planes from Harbor Freight recently, as my first beginner RC plane. I crashed it within 15 seconds of liftoff. Broke the wings off etc. Luckily they sell replacement wings at HF, so I got it put back together, and am getting ready for flight #2. Anyone have this plane? Thoughts, tips, opinions, etc?? Thanks!!

Don't waste your time & money trying to fly any more, by yourself, GET HELP, it will save you heaps, find a club near where you live & GET HELP. You won't regret going to a club, but you will if you go it alone. |

What you bought was a cheap toy.
I have seen people fly them very successfully for what they are, but they are flown as a novelty and discarded. Personally, I wouldn't bother. If you are truly interested in learning to fly, trash the yellow bee. It won't help you learn anything, but it may get you some exercise. If you just want to play with the cheaper toys, that's fine. You will learn in time. Buy some foam-safe CA and activator for repairs. (This purchase will likely exceed the total cost of the toy, however). Good Luck!! |

that tip on finding a club is pure gold. but once you learn to fly little elecs like that are fun..not as much fun as aplane that flys well though[:@] |

I got Stung by the Yellow Bee :o(
I bought a Yellow Bee from Harbor Freight and so did three of my co-workers. They all did the same thing when launched. Immediately after released it would bank to the left and then crash. ALL FOUR PLANES!!! Upon further inspection, I noticed that the right plastic motor shroud was molded wrong and pitched the right motor outward instead of straight and symmetrical with the other motor. I did some crash repair by using clear packing tape on all the wings and then attempted to align the right side motor to be symmetrical with the left motor. I had about three successful flights after that and then a crash. It is now in the trash. It sounded like a good deal at first for the price, but it turned out to be a guaranteed crasher out of the box. Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap foamie for about $20-$30, motor, li-po pack, small servos, receiver and radio and have fun for a long time! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! If you are serious about the hobby, got to a local hobby shop & look up a flying field near you and show up on a weekend or when they fly. Cheers |

I had a yellow bee as well. Its all thrust to control this thing, no control surfaces! So its very hard for a beginner to fly. If you are seriously looking into flying then look for a club in the area or even a group of guys at a park and most likely they will give you information overload, but will help you get something you will be happy with and be able to fly. If you want to stay electric there are some really nice RTF's (ready to fly) around 200 bucks, and if you go Nitro you can get started around 250 to 350 bucks. I'm not up on whats a good electric RTF though. Nitro I could help :D I LOVE the smell and the mess of them so its what I fly.
