Beginner Electric Plane suggestions
Hello,
I want to start off with an Electric plane, what do you guys suggest? I am going to buy the DX7 radio soon also so I don't really need a kit that comes with everything. Since this is my first time basically I would rather have something that is almost "RTF". Thanks! |

My brother and I started with the Multiplex EasyStar. It's almost indestructable. Great flying airplane. It just doesn't handle any wind. That is what we learned on and then I moved up to nitro. Good luck

MPX Easy Star is a very nice plane on 3S lipo but you must be careful with the throttle, if not the brushed motor does not last long. You will also need a lipo pack of about 2,500 mAh yo balance her properly. Other planes are the Model Tech Fledgling, its larger but really good to fly. Needs only a 3S set up with some motor that can handle a 13x8 prop and you can use a 3,000+ mAh pack on this also. You will have good duration.

If you are looking for something more than a RTF parkflyer and you want to stay with electric power, a Sig Kadet Senorita makes a good electric plane conversion and there is hardly a better trainer in the world.

Haven't flown the Easy Star but have 2 other Multiplex both of which are great, alternatively Hobbyzone Super Cub isn't a bad plave to start.
