The BIG Bang!!!!
Not a good day. Took my Grandson to the field to try out his plane he has been working on. He was with an instructor. The engine was not running right so the instructor asked me if I had something else to put him on the buddy box with. Should have said no. But I got out my scratch built (t'was a pretty one) Put it in the air and Grandson got to fly for a few minutes, then the instructor said he would take it. The next thing the instructor said was: I DON'T HAVE IT. It took one of those death spirals and went straight down. The problem is the farmers barn got in the way so he put a skylight in the roof. Needless to say--ALL GONE- Total wreck. Did wake the workers up that was in the barn. My great big 60 all fit in a wal-mart bag. We did get Grandson's plane working and he was able to fly about 10 minutes. So the day was not a total loss.

No not the 1st flight. It way almost something came loose ie, battery, reciever or I thought maybe the instructor has hit the switch and changed the model. I had 5 planes programed. Don't know what happened. Couldn't find the battery and I really wanted to check it.

RE: The BIG Bang!!!!
for the battery side of things... i use one of these [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHDJ2&P=ML]NIFTY LITTLE GADGETS[/link]
every time i fill up the tank, its there staring straight at me, whilst it doesnt check the battery under load, it lets you know if youve done something silly like leave your RX on overnight or not turned your charger on (both of which im guilty of, its saved me from flying with a low battery a few times) but theres not much i can say about selecting the wrong models or changing the settings by accident. |
