Your Dream Plane

Hello people, I had a few problems and got a new account but it is still seemefly. This post is something I think about a lot. Trainees what RC planes do you wish to fly in the future. Or veterans what did you wish to fly and what do you fly.

RE: Your Dream Plane

Ooooo....this could be such an enjoyable thread. :)

I have several "dream planes" within various categories, so to speak.

My "Dream Purchase"...that is, the "Get it, assemble it, and go fly...no emotional attachment, it's just COOL" plane would be the RTF 52% Edge that Bill Hempell is selling on his website. Only $11,500 :)

http://www.billhempel.com/newsite/im...dgeforsale.jpg

My "dream plane"....that is, if I could have any plane in the world all for my very own, wouldn't be RC...it's be a brand spankin new Cirrus SR-22 G III Turbo...though, I'd probably want in silver, of course. :)

And finally...if we're being "serious", and talking about "dream plane that's actually achievable", I have it. My scratch built 33% Jim LeRoy Pitts S2S Bulldog.

Those sure are nice planes. I went to the airport my sister is learning to fly and they were showcasing a Cirrus SR-22 G III Turbo. What a nice plane

Indeed. I'll never possibly afford one, I know...but holy cow, what an airplane. They're stunning, and WOW what a performer! The thing CLIMBS faster than the DA-20 I train in CRUISES. *heh*

48% Ultimate with a DA 150.I have seen a couple of these fly and they are just awsome. I talk with one of the guys flying this plane and he claimed it flew like a trainer on low rate and whatever your thumbs could do on high rate. I would like to find out.

I really don't have a dream plane for R/C, but in real life i would love to own a piper j3 cub, with floats for some reason i just really like them, too bad they aren't made anymore[:o]

Shouldn't it be seemefly_2 ? JK:D
My pace is a bit slower to spite that I have been taring up the skies lately with a Showtime 90.
My passion lies in pre-WW2 aircraft, the bigger the better too.
I have a 40 size SE-5 and am currently building a 1/4 scale DR1 that will be highly detailed including a full cockpit and pilot.
I would love to have a 1/3 scale D7 or Sopwith of some kind.A big Eindecker would be nice too.
I even have a Kange Monocoupe (sp?) on my wish list.
So many planes, so little time:(

This is an easy one on my part.

FA 18/F Super Hornet (Ducted or Turbine), this is and has always been my long time goal.

Any and every sport, areobatic and 3d plane out there, but if I had to choose one it would probably be the Pitts S1 its huge, you can see it fly at this site, dont know who makes, not that it matters I could never afford it, the wood alone is probably $1500!!! or more!!

1) Extreme Flight RC's 104" Yak w/ DA 100
2) Modkat w/ Jett 100LX F.I.R.E., reverse crankshaft :D

Just looked at the pitts S-1 link. That has to be close to 75%! The 1:1 is only a little larger than that. [X(]

Oh boy, this thread is great! I started daydreaming while reading it, only to wake up and realize that I don't own any of them. [:o]

I would say a 50% Edge 540, with the kitchen sink of course (smoke, custom paint job, etc.).

That airplane is probably "adequate". :) :D

PS: I'm not a beginner, but I can still dream can't I?

Considering all the set backs I've had on my first plane... Right now, I dream of an RC plane that's actually complete and capable of flying.

As far as dream plane I'll never possibly own or be in.... (It's not technically a plane... but it'd be a heck of a ride none-the-less.)

I want a shot!

It's the Top Flight F4U CORSAIR "Gold Giant Scale Edition" - 86.5" wingspan, flaps, retracts, smoke, video camera..... Hmmmm let's make it an UAV, YEA! [X(]

For the engine, let's go with the O.S. Max IL-300 Dia-Star 4-Cylinder, 4-Stroke Inline Limited Edition Collector's Engine. [8D]
OR the more scale O.S. Max FR5-300 "Sirius" 4-Stroke, 5-Cylinder Radial Engine

I think I'd rather have the inline 4 cylinder engine, I don't know if it'll fit or even if it'll fly with all that weight...... but hey, I'm dreaming right? ;)

Well, I have been delayed a month or so in buying my trainer... but once I learn how to fly the trainer my immdiate goal (or "dream plane") is the Great Planes Super Skybolt 60 with the most powerful engine it will hold.

I know, the veterans probably consider it a bland choice, but that's the one that is within my reach after a trainer and it it just looks really cool:-)

Definately a turbine Aircraft of some sort. An F-22, F-16, or maybe even a A-10, who knows. It will be a long time though as I have nowhere near the income level to support this hobby in that way.
