Bubby Box cables
I was wondering if anybody tried to use the Real Flight Interlink Cables for a Buddy Box cable. Would the cables work in the field for buddy boxing? I was going to buy a cable but was thinking these may work. Does anyone know for sure?
Thank you in advance, Just Dreamin |

RE: Bubby Box cables
Realflight Interlink is USB, or at least the one I have is USB. So, I know it is not compatible with the buddy box plug on the back of the transmitter.

RE: Bubby Box cables
Fwiw, I did actually try it. I was looking for something that might allow JR a JR-to-Futaba training cord adapter that wasn't the one Hanger 9 sells (since the Hanger 9 one only works one-way, with the JR as the master and Futaba as the student, I wanted the other way around). I thought that since the cables with Real Flight allowed a JR box to work as the student, and they had an adapater, it might work. But apparently there's something in the pinout somewhere, since it didn't work for me when I played with it.

I think the original poster is referring to the cable that goes from the "trainer port" of the Interlink box to the trainer port of a real transmitter. If so, it might work. It's simple enough to test.

RE: Bubby Box cables
Yes Carrell; that is what I was speaking about. I am still being trained and was going to purchase a trainer cord but was thinking if it works from the interlink to the real TX it may work from TX to TX. I will have to wait till I get to the Club on Sunday and just try it myself. Thanks for your input. :)

RE: Bubby Box cables
I would test it at home tonight but both of my transmitters have "round" trainer ports and one end of the Interlink wire is "square."
No reason to buy a cable if this one will work. |
RE: Bubby Box cables
Well, then if that's the case, then the only way to see if it works is to try it. My Realflight 3.5 uses the USB Interlinkl. I do recall the older version had a different setup with the cable and if so, that may... MAY work, but don't be surprized if it does not.
Buddy boxes are not that expensive, you know. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLV14&P=ML Futaba for $44.99 from Tower. |
RE: Bubby Box cables
I've tried it and it didn't work. I had the same idea. Went and purchased a buddy box on ebay for 29.00 with the cord.

It worked for me, i was using a futaba 4exa as a master and a 6ex 2.4ghz as the student, it won't work the other way around, i had both radios on, i was very surprised that this worked for me, it might have something to do with the fact that it is 2 futaba's

RE: Bubby Box cables
acarter, you used a simulator interlink "transmitter" as a buddy box and it worked?
|
RE: Bubby Box cables
Realflight sells an interlink cord where you can use a real transmitter to plug into the RealFlight controller. I think I tried to plug the controller into the real transmitter but couldn't get it to work that way.
I have the G2 RealFlight and it's controller is USB. |
RE: Bubby Box cables
CG they are not talking about the plug that goes directly to the computer, there is another cable that is setup like a trainer cord so you can "train" just like at the field
