Sig Something Extra help!!!!
Hey guys. I'd appreciate any advice you guys could give me.
How did you guys mount your RX battery on the Sig Something Extra? I need the battery under the servo tray, about 3" back from the landing gear. There's really no easy way to get the battery under there. The tray and the wing tube thing is in the way. If I mount it right behind the fuel tank, then it's a little nose heavy. The guy that I got it from mounted the pack under the canopy using velcro. I don't know that I want it this touchy for the first flight. Would you just mount the battery behind the tank and call it good? Need some help. Thanks. Clint |

Pack it in foam and slide it under the wing tube, if you have enough foam around it, it will be held securely as the foam expands just behind the wing tube.

That's what I did with mine...Wrapped the battery pack in 1/4 inch thick foam held in place with a couple heavy rubber bands and shaoved it under the wing tube and back under the servos. You have to work it a little at a time, compressing the foam as you push it under the servo tray. Stays in place just fine.

Thanks for the advice. I really do appreciate it.
Clint How do your S.E.'s knife edge? I've heard that the plane won't knife edge very well. Is that true? I test flew a Sig Fazer and that knife edged like a dream. These planes are practically the same. What's wrong with the Extra? |

the SE doesnt KE because of the shape of the fusealage. it doesnt give enough lift in front of the CG for it to stay up.
the fazer is a profile so it generate more lift then a normal "box fuse" other than this the SE is a great flying plane, good for doing low slow rolls and inverted passes good luck with yours. |

Are you guys able to do any 3D aerobatics with this plane?
Clint The guy that I got this from said he was doing Harriers, hovering, and torque rolling this plane. |
Sig SE
I finished mine about 5 months ago and I love it. Great flying Plane. I have an O.S. .50 on the front with a macs muffler, and it will go vertical after you rotate out of site. I can hover with it, and it has done every 3D aerobatic I know how to do , I have Flaperons set up, and a lot of other mixing with my Futaba 9C. You can bring this baby down for a landing just about standing still and with a little head-wind you can drop it right down on the gear. I would recommend this one to anyone looking for some fun. Really a good solid airplane. A+
