G'day Mate,
NO a Piper Cub of any sort is NOT a good trainer.
Try the Seagul/Pheonix, Boomerang 40, it will cost about $89.00 from Roj's hobbies in Melbourne, see here, http://www.rojshobbies.com/Planes.html
They are a great trainer, put an OS 46AX on it, swinging an 11x6 prop, & whatever radio you have, if you don't have a radio, I can recommend the Spektrum DX7.
Another very good trainer, that's available here in AUS, is the Skyraider Mk 1. same engine & same radio.

ok, are those electric?

G'day Mate,
No, they are not electric, I would not recommend an electric trainer to anyone. They require specialized skills, to set up & operate, & to charge the batteries, properly.
A glow engined trainer is actually easier to fly than an underpowered electric job, & the flight times are more than trippled. A Boomerang 40 with a 46AX will generally fly for up to 20 minutes, because it is flying at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle most of the flight.
An electric trainer will not fly very well in any sort of wind, unless it has a good sized motor on it, & then you will need larger batteries, & speed controller, to cope with the extra current required by the motor.

To be honest, unless you are buying a disposable airplane, electric is more expensive to get started in.

Tusar, As I actually know what plane you are talking about unlike these other people. These are a great trainer and are excellent value for money if you are looking at getting into rc flight. Have you looked at the electrafun xp it is a similar plane but also has a spare wing and tail in the box with it. I took one down to the park this morning to test it out for a customer and it was the first time i had flown anything like it ( I am use to gas planes ) And we had a ball with it looping and doing stall turns in no time.
