The good thing is an old freind of mine sent me a few bits for it but i need the rest of the electronics,,,he sent me a hitec 3 channel radio control system called a Ranger 111 Sky and a Hi tec Fm hfs-04mg with a thing plugged in to it (i think its the chrystal??)with a number on itCH65:35.050RA,a spare proppeller and a Multiplex drive battery7,2v/600mAh(Ni_Cd) and a Graupner multilader6E,,i think i need servos and something else but i really dont know,,could someone advise me on everything else that i need to be complete and ready for flight, considering i have little budget, many thanks ,,i look forward to any replys.. |
RE: multiplex easystar help
I have the RTF version. I don't know what comes with the arf version but this is as much as I can help:
Receiver Radio Foam safe CA (glue) or two sided tape(two sided tape is what the RTF fuse was put together with) speed controller three servos (micro) flight battery battery charger You have some of those items and I would wait to see what comes with the one you get and check out the manual that comes with it. Hopefully it will refer to American parts. The manual starting page 14 may help although it refers to parts found in other countries(maybe the UK, I don't know). See your local hobby shop. http://www.multiplexusa.com/Support/...s/easystar.pdf Sorry I can't be more help. Good Luck! |

RE: multiplex easystar help
have they changed the easystar?i see mention of 3 servos but i only had 2 on mine, one for rudder and the other for elevator.hampibaba, you don't need to use multiplex servos, anything that will fit with around 1 1/2 kg of torque will be fine.i would also go with a 2s lipo instead of nicad.

RE: multiplex easystar help
Welcome hampibaba!
You'll love the EasyStar. I got the RTF version which came with a HiTec Neon radio. This radio has only one gimble stick and uses a slider on the reverse side of the TX for the throttle. Very intuitive actually and I think it's priced right! The EasyStar is very easy to fly but as the more experienced flyers will recommend, get the assistance of a qualified trainer at an AMA site. That made all the difference in the word for me. After 2 or 3 flights I was off on my own. Now I'm building an ARF to fly this fall and over the winter I'll be building a glow trainer for the spring. It's quite an addiction, especially after you've soloed! Good Luck! |

Thanks bigchap , snacker and hampdentech,
I was a bit confused for a moment cause i looked at a few web sites that described having used 2 servos but now its clear, and also i have been looking around at servos on ebay and other sites and found other servos that were not from multiplex at all different prices,,,,and i think i will give the trainer a go,,,,thanks for everything,,,,,i will let you know how it goes!!!! oh, and one more thing,,can anyone recommend a motor controller?? cheers!! |
RE: multiplex easystar help
if you are still using the standard motor and seeing as you are in the uk i would recommend the ripmax xtra air 14.they are nicad, nimh and lipo compatible but are strictly for brushed motors, they are cheap too!

RE: multiplex easystar help
Hi,,,Just a quick update,,my easystar is up and flying,,i finally got the parts,,i got a multiplex pico 400 duo 40 amp and a couple of mini blue servo's and the leads for my charger,,connected it all up and went flying !!!
I had a few crashes and got a bit of a bulldog nose ,but have since added some polystyrene to the inside of the nose which now cushions the blow if the batterie comes loose, also i added another rudder to the to the rudder,i sort of glued it on with little brackets and i have much more control,,nearly lost it twice in a river and got it stuck at the top of a tree but managed to retrieve it,,i have a long way to go,,,,,,,a long way,,,,,,,but i love it !!!I also use a couple of rubber bands over the hatch to keep it on,,i found the clips to be a bit weak and lost the hatch twice but also got it back again,,anyway,,having loads of fun and loads of crashes but you gotta learn right?... |
RE: multiplex easystar help
Sounds like your having fun. I crashed mine so many times that the fuse kept splitting but it was a lot of fun. I still have my easystar and have thought about getting a stronger motor for mine and flying it again in the future. I'll need a better battery too. Maybe I'll get it out of the garage one of these days and put some upgrades on it.:) Keep flying it and practice. That plane helped me get ready for the four channel planes!
Good luck! |
