RE: Fuel Injected model engine

This engine has a pressurized fuel system but is not fuel injected. Looks like the owner got carried away?

It is a very nice engine at a good price though for Helicopters. Will not work for airplanes. There's no propeller drive set up

"YS .61 ST2
The YS .61's main claim to fame is SMOOTH power and a no-fuss needle valve. On a nice spring day you set the needle slightly rich and then fly until winter. (With some stops for fuel, charging, work and other pesky interruptions!) It's a VERY smooth engine. The YS is not very happy with tuned pipes and generally runs best with a good muffler. Besides price and mounting issues, the only downside to the YS is the somewhat complex method in which it gets its strong, smooth power. The unique fuel tank pressurization system has a lot more maintenance points than the "plain old" venturi type carb on other engines. ALL fuel lines must be pristine, and any dirt in the fuel can cause problems with the check valve, regulator ports, diaphragm AND needle. Again, it's a VERY good engine and if you don't mind trading more complexity (and somewhat higher cost) for more consistent needle setting, it's a great choice."

w8ye - I believe that the YS61 can be used for planes and its been used by some in RCU before. I got one and have yet to find a plane for it but now I am fully EP so its time to let her go unless I start on helis.

what planes would this go on if it did go on a plane

RE: Fuel Injected model engine

If the crankshaft is long enough and you can find the drive washers and nuts, it could be used in planes

It will work great in any 60 size plane

so as you said it is smother but what else is to this engine

It has an unusual amount of power for a 61

As long as you are dreaming try the YS170-DZ
http://centralhobbies.com/Engines/ys/ysengines.htm

Supercharged and direct fuel injected. Plane types? Big and expensive.:D

I wonder if you can get 4 flights per gallon with that Bad Boy.

If you are going to listen to the music - You must pay the piper?

Bruce I like to dream too. Heres one in 4 stroke and one in 2 stroke.
4 stroke is a 2.00 and 2 stroke is a 1.40
