Flight Kit

Quick question on glue for building a flight kit..got the hobbico flight box..was wondering what the best glue was to use ?

Im using the 20 minute epoxy is this good enough or do I need some kind of wood glue ?

I was wondering if I should use some small tack nails also for support ?

Thanks

Jeff

Flight Kit

i built mine with CA - no nails needed.

I think I would use wood glue and a couple nails next time as CA is expensive.

If you have epoxy use epoxy. It should work fine.

a little note: Be careful with the drawer and the shelf that fits above the drawer. I have seen many built where the drawer will not open or will not shut completely. Make sure the shelf does not glue to the drawer or vice versa. Also, make sure the shelf does not shift.

Hey Carpunky.
Yes do use some really smalll nails for permenent istalation.
use apoxy in the well fit places and use CA in the hard to hold for more than a second places :}

Fuel

Except for the fuel storage, you could do it with just wood glue.

Make sure you coat the fuel storage really well with epoxy. I thought I was very careful with my fuel pump and fuel bottle, but on my third trip home with my new flight box, I pulled out the fuel bottle and looked in to see a good-sized puddle of fuel sloshing around.

Fortunately, I had coated it well and it drained out and cleaned up easily.
