Needle Valve assembly replacement installation?
Hi guys, I just laid down a deposit on my Freedom 20 that I'll get next month. The only problem it has is the need for a needle valve assembly. I just got the assembly today, and am just wondering how I need to put this on. The engine is a .25 FP from O.S. Is there any *special* way to do this? Will a replacement affect my break-in process?

RE: Needle Valve assembly replacement installation?
For the OS 25 FP engine you need to get OS Needle Assembly #3A212A. You can find it at Tower Hobbiies for $8.99. Here is the link to that part, [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=22281903&search=Go[/link]
Hope this helps Ken |

RE: Needle Valve assembly replacement installation?
There is a jam nut that has the spray bar assemble locked in place. You will need to loosen up the jam nut and the whole spray bar and needle valve will unscrew out. Install the new one by screwing in the new one. You will want to get the spray bar close to centered in the carb, then just tighten up the jam nut. This should not effect the break in off the engine at all. Good Luck, Dave

I would not use locktite on that part becuase of its very fine threads and small holes etc that could be ruined by locktite.
The 25 FP is a nice motor and should last you for eons if taken care of well :D GOOD LUCK |

Here is a picture of the needle valve assembly with the jam nut. The assembly does screw in and out, and the jam nut holds it tight. Thanks Dave

So does the jam nut stay on the assembly, or do you screw the assembly into the carb, then tighten the jam nut inside the carb?

RE: Needle Valve assembly replacement installation?
Jam nut stays on the assembly.

RE: Needle Valve assembly replacement installation?
Jam nut stays on
screw assembly in finger tight then hold the assembly still and screw just the nut down until tight this "jams" the threads and it stays put Isn't RC flyin full of fun stuff to learn:D |
