RE: Is this a decent ARF?
Its not a beginner plane
The engine you have is at the bottom scale of recommended engines. |
RE: Is this a decent ARF?
As stated by W8YE this is not a beginners plane. I love small planes but usually fly them on nitro with one exception. Spall planes can be fairly snappy when they stall. Be very carefull selecting your power as a little extra can give you some more chance for recovery. I'm wish I could help you picj out a motor but I know embarassingly little about electric motors. So I would say just go get an OS .15 CV-A and be done with it:D

RE: Is this a decent ARF?
Agree... these planes area dime a dozen at the field i fly at (or use to fly at since i've been engaged). they are small, and unruly. i would say that they are really a good fourth plane because even if you could fly it, you would only be able to fly it on the calmest of days. they get pushed around with the smallest of breezes. many planes this size is designed for a certain "crashiness" in the landings, this plane will break.
if you must go with this plane, make it light, i would suggest going with a folding prop and no landing gear. hand launch and belly land in grass. my two cents. |
