hitec rx and fut tx compatable?
 

Hi all, I have a CMP edge 540 on the way and im getting my stuff together to get ready to install.
I have a futaba tx on ch 41, and I have been using my rx( the futaba one) in my pulse.
Now im not sure if the upper and lower channel deal with futaba is only in the rx or if it is in the tx too.

So... I have a rx a friend has given me, A very nice new hitec supreme 8ch
The rx has a ch29 crystal in it. So of course i need to change the channel
But On the rx it does have a small green oval over the channel sticker that says "FUT"
so I asked the LHS owner and he tells me that if I didnt have a fut tx i could use it but futaba cant be used with anything but futaba because of the upper and lower channel ranges.
I thought that you had to use a high or low when using the futaba RX but the tx is a non issue.
So wouldnt i just change the rx crystal and use it? What type of crystal will i want to use?
I thought I would use a hitec crystal in it but I want to make sure before i get one.

My tx is a futaba T6eax or something close to that, Its a 6ch computer radio

I have a Tower 6XM which I believe to be identical to the Futaba 6EX and I use Hitech rx's without any problems.

thats what i figured, what crystal in the rx? a hitec or futaba or does it matter?

I use the Hitec crystal in the Hitec rx's.

awsome. ty. does your hitec have a fut symbol on it, i think that has to do with shift.

Hitec does not use high or low band like Futaba receivers do.
If it is marked Futaba (for negative shift) it will work with your transmitter.
Newer Hitec receivers are shift selectable with a jumper and the new Supreme are auto shift both will work with any major brand transmitter
Use a hitec crystal.
I use mostly Hitec receivers with my Futaba radio simply because they are lower cost and work just as good as Futaba.
