need help patching some holes in a fin
Ok, I have a couple holes in the horizontial fin. the covering is monocote. I have a couple small holes, like a pencil stuck through it. and then the leading edge of the fin has peeled back on the underneth side. about 2 1/2 inches wide, about the size of a buisness card. Ok, on the small holes can I just cut a small patch and iron it down, or use a heat gun? and on the edge,, I can tear off the piece that is tore anyway and put the patch down and iron it to the leading edge on the bare wood. and then iron the rest down to the old monocote? will that work or is there a better way?? thanks for any help you can give....

you got it. use the iron its easy to fix it that way a heat can shrizel the mono caot back. the iron will do this also but you have more time

RE: need help patching some holes in a fin
don't forget to wipe it down carefully with some alcohol to get rid of the fingerprints and stuff to make the monocoat stick better when you iron it. Start with the lowest setting you can make the stuff stick at, also. Don't hurry it and you will make a good repair.
