filling fuel
whats the best way to tell when the fuel tank is full
|
RE: filling fuel
I personnaly disconnect the vent line on the muffler side when filling and when I can see some fuel coming in this one I know it's completely full.

RE: filling fuel
An overflow tank helps save the grass and your fuel for future use. Or else you can just wait till the Nitro squirts into your eye.

RE: filling fuel
What Seb said is what I do as well. Disconnect the vent line from the muffler and when the tank is full the overflow will come out the vent line. I actually have a small catch bottle that I hook up to the vent line to catch any overflow so that it's not wasted. But that's just me!

[color=#FF0099]Ken,
I never thought of using the overflow bottle....I just make a gieser out of the vent line :), perhaps I'll find a bottle....good idea! Bev BTW, Happy New Year and all that jazz!! |
RE: filling fuel
Bev,
I just used a 2 oz Dubro fuel tank that I had laying around. Works great. Ken |
RE: filling fuel
Same as above and on my cowled engines I fill until it starts to come out of the exhaust. I can kind of tell when it gets close because of the pitch (sound) of the electric fuel pump I use.

RE: filling fuel
when the pilot in your plane starts yelling...."Help! I can't swim"

RE: filling fuel
I just use an old medication bottle (lots of those unfortunately:D) and epoxy a short tube into the lid. Works good.
Note: Don't mistake for medication at a later time.[:'(] |
