Reciever Battery Charger?
 

I'm buying a Horizon Hobby Tribute 36 PNP and have no idea on what a good cheap charger would be for the reciever battery.[&:]

The radio that you use for this plane should come with a charger that you can use to recharge the receiver battery with.

If you want to invest in one really good charger, I'd recommend the Triton 2 by Great Planes. Its pricey but will charge any kind of battery and almost any number of cells you'll need. RCKen's suggestion works too, but if you own tons of batteries or plan to use electric power in the future the Triton 2 is a good bet.

My transmitter did come with a charger I just didn't know if it would charge that battery or not, this will be my first glow plane (I already own a couple of electrics)

If you are using the battery that came with the radio, RCKen's suggestion will be just fine. So will the Triton, by the way, but that's a price issue for some. If you switched over to a 6 volt (5 cell) pack, well, you are really gonna have to get a different charger. I have the Trition, by the way, and also have an ICE. Both are very nice and do a great job. They are 12volt input types of chargers.. charge off the cigarette/utility plug in your car or with aligator clips to the car battery. I also have an AccuCycle charger that uses normal household current. Will charge both a TX and RX at the same time. It does not do Lipo.

What's nice about the Triton and ICE is that you CAN charge a number of different types of batteries.. NiCd, NiMh, and Lipo for instance.

Another way that is cheap and works well is to use the charger that comes with your radio system to charge the tx and rx batteries then plug it into an appliance timer to come on one hour a day. If you only fly one day a week it will charge your standard 700 mah battery just fine without over charging it.
If you want to spend a little money then get one of the Sirius chargers. They don't do lipos but you just plug in your battery and when they light starts to blink it is done.
