Hey Guys,

After the earlier post I had. Ive finally taken my pt40 built from the kit up, for a first flight and let me tell you it flew beautifully. I would highly recommend this kit to all those who are thinking about getting into the hobby. Thanks to all the people out there who have given me great advice.

Here is a pic of my plane at the field, others will follow.

Thanks Again.

Mike

Hey Mike
Is your PT 40 balanced fairly nose heavy?
Mine needed quiet abit of lead to make it "slightly nose heavy, but on its maiden flight the nose shot straight up after rotation, giving the test pilot a bit of a scare, when he got it back on the ground he made me take all the lead off, leaving it very nose heavy. required more runway to takeoff but flew great.
Was just curious. This plane has to be the most nose heavy plane I have ever built and/or setup.
I balanced the Tiger the same way (slight nose down@CG point) and it flew like a dream. My instructor told me "those big flat bottom wings love nose weight".
Oh well, glad you got her up and everything went good.
Congrates!!

Hey Mike,
The PT 40 was the first kit I bult when I started RC in 1998. It was a great building experience and a better flying one. It was such a lovely plane to learn on. After getting many low wingers and aerobats, I still enjoyed the PT for those relaxed tension free flights. I ended up selling it a few months back....but won't hesitate to admit that it was one of the best planes I owned.
Fly it and enjoy!!!
Cheers

Every time I hear about how excited a newbie gets with his first flight, I get excited right along with him!

Good luck Mike! And happy flying! :D
