Elevons?
 

Please help me if you can! I have an EEP EAGLE dut to land at my house. Its a v-tail w/electric outrunner. Construction calls for mixing the elevators so that they can both be moved up/down together and also individually. My question; how does one do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. >>>---> Rev. Bill

What radio do you have? I use a 9C and it has this function in the program.

Please note that there is a difference between V-tail mixing and elevon mixing, although they do a similar thing.

V-tail mixes the rudder and elevator, while elevons mix the elevator with ailerons. A v-tail plane will still have ailerons.

If you have a computer radio, either one is usually a pre-programmed function. If not, you need to mix them either mechanically or electronically. They make gizmo's that you plug the two servos into to mix them if you do not have a computer radio. They can also me mixed mechanically, which is really cool, but it's harder to do.

I'm not familiar with that radio, but I assume it's non-computerized. Your best bet is probably an electronic V-tail mixer, like this:

This is a mechanical alternative, but it's probably a lot more work.

Somebody posted a picture recently of a mechanical setup, with a sliding servo, which was really slick, but for a smaller plane, the electronic mixer is probably the way to go.
