4 stroke fuel vs. 2stroke fuel

What is the main difference between these 2 fuels?

Thanks for the info!

IMO none.
fuels labeled 4 stroke are a way to charge more for the same thing.Just keep an eye on contents and you can burn any fuel with enough nitro and oil.
15% nitro and 18% oil (caster and synthetic blend) and all my engines are happy 2 or 4 stroke.

OS engines specifically state NOT to use 4-stroke fuel

Rather than being concerned about the product description, you need to look at the ingredients.
Your engine manual should recommend a minimum oil percentage, and should also tell you if some or all of the oil should be castor.
As long as the oil content (and nitro content, if any) is correct, the rest of the words in the product description are pretty meaningless.

where does it say that, I went through every 2st manual I have(all 3) as well as the 4st manuals (all 4) and no where does it say anything about not running 4st fuel.
both manuals,2 and 4 stroke, recomend 5-20% nitromethane and 18% lubricant either, castor or synthetic or a blend of both, there is nothing refering to fuel type,I use Powermaster 10%nitro 18% oil, in all my engines no matter what type they are.

as long as a fuel meets the requirements of a particular engine your running, oil and nitro content, your good to go,theres alot of hype in this hobby its just one way to keep the sales going.

You are correct. OS does not say to avoid "four stroke" fuel. Tower Hobbies writes in their tech notes that "some" four stroke fuels should be avoided due to low oil content.

The OS manuals do not refer to "two stroke" or "four stroke" fuels. They just tell you what the makeup of the fuel needs to be. The following is a copy/paste from the OS 46FX manual that can be downloaded at http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/50sx-...1fx-manual.pdf

FUEL
Select, by practical tests, the most suitable fuel from among the best quality fuels available in your country for model use. For the best performance, a fuel containing 5% to 20% nitromethane is preferable. Lubricants may be either castor-oil or a suitable synthetic oil ( or a blend of both ) provided that they are always of top quality.
For consistent performance and long engine life, it is essential to use fuel containing AT LEAST 18% lubricant by volume. Some fuels containing coloring additives tend to deteriorate and may adversely affect running qualities.

Most of the time (Morgans especially) its the same fuel with a different label.
