Engine Mounting Thrust

So I just can't seem to finish my first plane......

I mount my engine and it seems like there's a bit of left thrust, ie it's not exactly straight rather it seems like its pointing a bit left. I read that a bit of sidethrust isn't a problem, and that it takes several degrees of thrust to cause a problem in flight. First of all, is this correct? Second, how must thrust would cause a problem? And third, How can I fix it if that's neccessary? I was thinking of putting some washers on the left side mounting screws. Of course I'll have my plane checked out before attempting to fly it [with the help of an instructor], but I want to know what I might have to do.] Thanks!

would that be to the left facing the engine or would that be left like you are sitting in the cockpit ?

normally about 2 degrees of right thrust is all that is needed to compensate for torque , and washers are a good fix for that it doesnt hurt to have a little down thrust also .

but before you fix it make sure its broke if you know what I mean ,

what kind of plane is it ?

It's left as if you're in the cockpit. It's a SIG Kadet LT-40 ARF Trainer. High Wings, tricycle landing gear. Thanks.

that would be backwards , it can be corrected by putting washers behind the left side of your mounting . if it gets straight it should be ok , torque can be corrected on take off by a small amount of aileron also , but be safe and ask your instructor , which he recommends ,
