Covering on ARF - pls help.

Hello all,

As my Goldberg Eagle II trainer (a kit) crashed a few days ago (its repairable but will take some time) I went out and got a Kyosho Trainer 40. The covering on this ARF looks well done without wrinkles and bubbles. However, it comes off at some of the edges. It looks like it has been glued on like a sticker. My question is how do I best fix it? Do I iron it on (is that possible with this covering) or do I just seal it with some epoxy glue?

The fuel tank that came with the kit had aluminum tubing (I think). Is it advisable to use brass instead?

Thanks for any advice that you might give

Just iron down the edges. You could use a dab of CA on the wood. For future reference, only use epoxy in areas of high stress loads on the airframe-its tons heavier than CA. As far as the fuel pickup lines go, they'll be fine.

Ditto to what Wallrat said, except that if the covering is sticky on the bottom, it's probably not the iron-on kind. Just stick it down with a little CA
