1'st Low Wing ???

HI. I'm new to flying. Built a Great Planes 60 with a .61 OS engine. Flies great. I have a FUtaba 6 channel PCM radio.
I want to start building a low wing for next year. I really enjoy the building...What a really good 1'st low wing??

THANKS

Thanks. I really enjoy the building so the kit doesn't bother me.
I had real luck with the first plane and everything went well...You know...fit twice and glue once..I'll look at the Sigs today..Thanks again

The 4*'s go together VERY easilly. The 4*40 reminded me of the old Snap-tite plastic models, in the simplicity of construction. The 4*60, I built in my hands... no board. (not a good idea for a beginner at building... there's a trick to it.)

For 90% of the construction, recommend using yellow glue instead of CA. Its much better for assembling lite ply. And how much difference is there in: Pin part in place, add CA, or Apply yelllow glue, pin part in place. ? The yellow gives a bit of time to realign if you see you got something crooked too.

See the kit reviews section. LOTS of hints on the 4*'s.

IF YOU DONT MIND A 40 SIZE PLANE THE BALSA USA SMOOTHIE IS EASY BUILT IT LOOKS LIKE A REAL AIRPLANE
AND IT FLYS VERY WELL WITH NO BAD TENDENCIES IT WILL FLY LIK YOUR TRAINER JUST REMEMBER WHEN YOU
BANK AND TURN YOU HAVE TO BRING IT OUT OF THE BANK IT WONT RETURN TO NEUTRAL LIKE A TRAINER
GOOD LUCK

Everyone will say the 4 star. it's one of my favorites!! And you can't go wrong with it, as it was designed as the 2nd airplane for your hanger.

You might also think about the Slow Poke form Great Planes. It's a slow flyer, gentle, and can teach a few new tricks.

Everyone will say the 4 star...

Or the Goldberg Tiger II (or Tiger 60) has also enjoyed great popularity (now eclipsed by the 4-stars, I think). Very well behaved sport planes with some aerobatic ability, easy to build, and designed to build straight.

Yep, the tigers are great planes too, but I feel a little cost prohibitive...

The retract option for teh tiger really makes it attractive.

But cost vs. building time & ease, the 4* will always win!
