engine spacing

I bought a Magnum .46 (replacement engine for a OS .40) for my Tower Trainer. If I shove the new engine back to get the spinner to firewall spacing recommended in the manual, the fuel lines get a little pinched. Would I be OK moving the engine foward a bit or can a 90 degree elbow be installed off the tank to avoid the pinching?

RE: engine spacing

You can move it forward a bit to get some clearance for your fuel lines. Just make sure to check your balance because moving the engine forward will more than likely shift the CG forward a bit. Other than than, you'll be fine.

RE: engine spacing

Ken,
I did the same with my Sealane that I am building to avoid kinking the fuel tubes and to move the balance a bit forward. I moved it 1/4" is there a general rule of thumb as to how far you can move it (of course, without taking into account CG issues)? I figure, if the mount is long enough and the firewall is strong enough, should it matter much?
Thanks,
Curtis

That's a pretty good rule of thumb. You should be ok.
