First Flight !
 

Today I had my First Flight ! Me and my dad brought the radios out to the field, but, my instructor couldn't make it out . I got my Nexstar out, fueled her up, and my dad flew it. We watched other people fly and up the driveway came my dad's friend "The Nexstar Expert", (w/ 200 + flights on it). So, we got the buddy box hooked up and my dad and his friend went up first to make sure everything was okay. Then I was called over, I took the radio ; the words "you got the plane" came out of my dad's mouth and I was flying. I'm officialy hooked :D After flying, I now see that the sim and the real world are quite a bit different ; I guess 6+ months on the sim really does pay off.

Good job. Its easy to get hooked. Now, wait till you solo. I did it about 2 hrs ago and im still all smiles. Im sure you have several planes picked out now for the future. :D The sim helped me a ton, but the real thing is still alot more fun and your encounters are alot different. Birds, wind, ...etc. Again, good job.

Nice job dude! I just got my first few flights on the Nexstar, too - flies nice, right? I can still hear my trainer saying "ok, you got it..." and it was such a rush. Wait 'till you try landing - my knees knock so hard I can barely stand up. Way to go!

Yeah, my dad and a friend of his were joking around they were mad at me for being so calm. What a rush flying is ! I'm the first and only girl in the club to fly.

Condgradulations! I started my oldest son when he was 16. Today, he flies F-16's for the USAF. He still flies R/C when he has time. I'm sure your Dad was proud. Best Regards.

The others are right when they say 'Wait for your first solo', thats a rush, especially the good landings;)

Then, once the nerves have settled, build a kit and give it a maiden flight, bigger rush than going solo:D:)

Using the SIM is an excellent idea. Enter your aircraft's dimensions so the flight modeling and physics more accurately portray it in flight. Practice with some wind. Land into and with the wind to see what it's like. "Back in the day" before flight SIMS and even buddy boxes, my father would just hand me the transmitter. I would have to turn my back to the plane, look over my shoulder during the short time model actually flew and eventually crash it. Something you probably haven't experienced much (the agony of defeat) because you use a SIM. Simulators are well worth the investment and they are loads of fun.
