HI.
Im new to all this. i recently got a very good deal on new citabria. I'm almost finished building it. I'm working on the servos now and decided to charge the batteries. how do I know if they are charged? theres no indication lights or anything. Do i need to get a meter and check the voltage or what. I have had the battery on charge for about 12 hours now. Any advice.

What system are you using? Most wall chargers have dual red led's. Let me know_bob

A full charge should take about 16 hrs.

ok thanks. I left it plugged in and plugged a couple of servos up and it seemed to work. The Rx is charged but the TX isnt. Everything works as long as i keep the TX plugged up

dnew1973,
Sounds like you're new to RC airplanes. I hope you're going to have a lot of help if you're just learning to fly.

A Citabria is far from a good choice for learning. Citabria is "Airbatic" backwards, which translates into more plane than a beginner should try. (They're also extremely twitchy on the ground.)

The only reason I have this plane is because of the good deal i got on it. I have talked with a few members of a local club and they are going to help me with the training. I also found out yesterday a friend has been doin this for years. The TX I got with it can be connected to a trainer also.

Any simulator time you can work in would help a great deal also. In the (free download) FMS simulator at www.comeparkfly.com there's a clipped-wing Super Cub that has somewhat similar flight characteristics as your Citabria. You can probably save yourself at least a few crashes by learning to fly the sim version first.

dnew,
Good advice regarding simulator time.

Here's a link to a site. The guy makes interfaces for FMS that'll connect your Tx to your PC. He includes FMS on a CD, all for a pretty reasonable price. ($21.00)
