HELP PLEASE____1989 46SF-S ABC
I picked up a deal.
1-Royal-air 40T compleated 1-Futaba 7ch digital proportional radio 1-tote box with automatic power panel & Mark X electric fuel pump 1-Starter tools and extra parts IT has a max-46sf-s abc engine that after sitting 17 years was a bit gummed up however, looks to be in great shape. my problem is I took it half way apart and can't get the piston and rod out to re-insert them into sleave due to ring. Can any one help? http://a82.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/...b719472b49.jpg http://a378.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...68fd448161.jpg http://a253.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...b6027e1c74.jpg http://a442.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...a5b6fd2159.jpg |

RE: HELP PLEASE____1989 46SF-S ABC
If you have allready removed the piston from the sleve you may need a new ring. If I remember correctly they had a Dykes ring which did not like being streached after being bedded in. The ring will need to be compressed so that it will fit back in the cylinder. To remove the piston and rod assy you remove the cylinder and then have to get the rod to slide right back on the gudgon pin in the piston. With the age and length of time sitting it is likely that it is gummed up.

RE: HELP PLEASE____1989 46SF-S ABC
The 46 SF ABC does not have a ring.
You need to remove the liner before the conrod will come off the crank, reinstall the same way. If the conrod will not slide on the wrist pin, some cleaning is in order. Try cooking in antifreeze with a crock pot. |
