Decal Removal

Is there a way to safely remove a decal from Monokote and be able to reuse it?
Thanks
Ron

You will be lucky to remove the decal without destroying the covering in the process. It is all but impossible to reuse a decal after removal. Heat may work however not knowing what type of decal it leaves much to speculation.

I picked up a Top Flite P-40 Warhawk from a club member and wanted to re-mount the decals as there are alot of wrinkles on the decals and the covering. I am almost tempted to remove the Monokote and just paint the fuselage

You might be able to use acetone to remove the decals. Acetone won't hurt the Monokote, but you won't be able to reuse the decals.

But I wanted to reuse the decal.
The decals that are on there remind me of normal model decals that you slip off the paper using water. This is because of the wrinkles that I see.

It just ain't gonna happen. Even the Smithsonian aircraft facility used new decals. I saw this at the now closed Garber facility over the winter.

What kind of decals are on the plane? Pictures?
