Parkzone J3 cub

I osted this in the RTF forum and noone responded so maybe better luck here
The engine on my cub completley died on me. possibly from dirt getting in during any crashes that may have occured. I am having the hardest time finding the stock engine to replace it. Can anyone point me in the direction of any engines that can work on the plane? i saw somthing about a venom engine but i dont know anything about how to mod it to fit or which one to get. If anyone knows a few engines i could choose from that would fit the plane please help me

Start here:

Get the size and electric numbers, then you can get a similar motor some where else (Like Tower).

Could be something like this one:

I know where to find the engine online, its no one has it at my LHS and i was really looking to get it fixed very soon. I was hoping that i could get a list of a few different motors so maybe my LHS would have one

Is this Parzone J3 Cb brushed or brushless?

The J3 has a motor not an engine.

Have you tried taking the motor to your LHS to see if he can match it up?

If your LHS doesn't have it, it's best to order it online and wait a week.

Hope this helps

is this the motor you are looking for?

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPAB5&P=M

It is very cheap, so if you do not mind spending a bit more I bet you can get a much better one than what came with it. that little cub is very underpowered, so don't be afraid to give it more power.

The one i got is the brushless. That is where i'm having the problem. I dont know which ones would be equal or better. Astro i dont know if that one will work. The stock motor is a 370 brushless and that is 380. Thats size isnt it?

Your original brushless motor is rated at 1500 kv, you will want to look for any brand of your choice with a similar number. (like the one I posted earlier which is rated at 1600 kv and handles a 7 x 4S ~ 9 x 4.7S prop.)

can you still spin the motor by hand? Brushless motors are prey resilient and if you don't see smoke comming out of it it is probably okay... You may want to check your ESC (Electronic Speed Control). Hate to see you buy a part you don't need... although I do so frequently and use it as an excuse to buy a new plane:D
