problems with a ST 40
I have a ST 40 that I can not get tuned right. It wont idle up to full rpms. I adjusted the high speed needle and thats not it. the low speed is very close. but the fuel mixture screw got messed with before I got the engine and I'm not sure how to reset it right. Could that be my problem with the rpms. You can hear that the engine just isn't hitting full rpms. Does anyone know how to adjust the mixture screw to get it back to where it should be? The manual says that the mixture screw should be set and shouldn't need to be adjusted, but dosn't say how just in case.

RE: problems with a ST 40
The SuperTigre web site lists both the default needle positions and also tips on tuning.
Make sure you have NO leaks. |
RE: problems with a ST 40
What size prop are you running on your Super Tigre 40?

RE: problems with a ST 40
in the engine clinic thread, there are some fine tunning procedures that this engine needs. I have one also and it helped. do a search on the supertigre, my thread was about 3 months back, Baxter from hobbico even responded. now it runs pretty good and tons of power. hey Mclina, how have you been? havnt seen much of you lately

RE: problems with a ST 40
I've been remodeling my house, and I haven't had time to fly, let alone spend much time at RCU. The kids are out of school after this week, and I am now free to get them to training nights. I just picked up Realflight G4 to get them some more stick time.
I haven't built a new SPAD in months, and I'm starting to get antsy. I just picked up another 46LA the other day (I had to spend the rebate I got with my flight sim) and I need to put it into something. I am thinking of a QHOR 40. Thanks for thinking about me. I'll post some pics of the kids flying when we get back out there. |
RE: problems with a ST 40
