second airplane

Im about to move from a trainer to a low wing. I am going to get a sig kougar. Is this a good choice?

A Kougar would not be a wise choice for a second plane. A Midstar would be a better pick, or a Four-Star if you want to follow the pack.

Seagull Space Walker was my second plane, still fly it still enjoy it. Beef the undercarriage plate up though.

I got the Phoenix Dolphin for second plane and totally love it! Looks better in person than on the websites. Considered a 'low wing trainer'. It is enough to keep my hands full after flying a high wing, can do some good aerobatics, but forgiving enough to allow me to have plenty of fun with it.

IMHO The Kougar would be OK if you are pretty confident with your first model

AND YOU GO BACK ON THE BUDDY BOX FOR THE FIRST FEW FLIGHTS!

I fly the Kougar's big brother, the King Kobra, with the minimum recommended engine on it. It's a nice stable design, but it's very fast. Very, very fast. It's fast.

If you like Sig kits, why not try a Mid Star before moving on to the Kougar?

my second plane was seagull space walker II. it's a very steady plane and forgiving. you can do basic aerobatics. I'm still flying it and having alot of fun. I totally recommend it.

Get yourself a goldberg tiger 60 and you won't regret it. Easy to fly and will land very slow on a dime!

:)I've always thought one of the sticks are the best for a second plane. Particularly the Ultra Stick series. Very easy to fly and very aerobatic. I went with the 60 size as my second plane. But any of them will work well. I've had the 46, the 60 and still own the 120 size. They are a fun plane to fly and very easy to control and will be very aerobatic when you are ready for that.
thanks

Sticks are great, 4*s, Super Sportster, Tigers, on and on, there are some very sweet planes out there for the second one. The Mid Star used to be the choice for the number two plane some years ago, another good choice still today. If you have A good instructor you may want to ask him what he thinks. If you see something you really like at the field ask the owner about it. With all the nice planes out there right now the choice is just too much fun.

Four Star 40 is a great plane. My second was an Ugly Stick. I flew my trainer for a month and moved up to the stick. I have two now. There are about a half dozen at the field. This week I will make a copy of my plans for the Stick for a friend at the club. You gotta have a Stick.

Good luck.
