Trainer plane question.....

1 Attachment(s)
I have a question about a problem with a students trainer. It's a Thunder Tiger like the one pictured. Anyway, it seems to pull violently backwards and up when the stick for the elevator is pulled back. We'll be flying along with it and pull back on the stick just a little too much and just about flips over in an extremely short distance. Anybody know what could be wrong with it?

Have you checked the CG?

Hmmmm banded wing, more rubber not enough rubber. Every time you pull the leading edge is rising.

Might be a stupid question, but have you inspected the elevator hinges??

My instructors trainer was doing this my first flight with him, so badly that I would barely move the stick and it would jump. He promptly took over and brought her in to inspect. We found the elevator hinge to be nearly pulled out on one side.

Thanks for the replies. We did check the rubber bands and also the CG. When we first checked it the CG was too far aft so we shifted it by moving some stuff forward. It might have to go even further forward though. It had plenty of rubber bands on it though.
I didn't think to check the elevator hinges. I'll do that next.

Be sure your CG is right, then check that your throws are correct. To much elevator can give you a fit if you are a bigginer.
