Spinner Question

Well, I am getting sick and tired of fooling with these Dubro Plastic Spinners...So, I think I would like to get a aluminum spinner. I would like to get a 2" Spinner with 5/16-24 adapter. I like the highly polished chrome ones. Any suggestions?

You can't go wrong with Tru Turn, it's not "highly polished" but the quality is very good.

You can polish it yourself though. I think Tru-Turn has directions on their website that are directly contrary to what I'm about to tell you. Either way works.

I just chuck it in a drill or drill press and use progressively finer grades of wet or dry paper and soapy water (electrical shock hazard here- be careful!). You can use the paper dry but you'll go through a lot more of it.

Then I use polishing compound to finish it off. Usually takes an hour or so to get a high polish on it.

My LHS (Tammies in Beaverton) carries the World Models aluminum spinners. They appear to be chrome plated, very shiny. I KNOW that WM has them on their web page, see them there. Don't know who sells them on line.

Spinner Question

Just wanna add those plastic spinners are crap. I got one with my kadet and the nose cone fell off and the screw holes widened to much to put it back on. What ever i can use a chicken stick to start it. Couple of turns and the blackplate snaps in two. Im going get one of those metal one as the plastic are just "plane" cheap(arguably a pun).

Well, the one that came with my Seniore Kadet is crap. At least the Dubro spinners have lock nuts on the backplate versus self threaded screws..
