Servos for Tiger 60?
I am building a tiger 60 and I need to decide on servos.
Tail dragger version, shorter wingspan with the dihedral taken out. 2 inches added to rudder 3/8 inch added to elevator stock aileron length I currently have 4 Futaba S3003 servos available from my trainer. I need 5 servos for the tiger. Do i need better servos for the elevator, rudder, ailerons or will the ones I have be fine? Any suggestions for servo combination for this plan? |

S3003's will be fine.

RE: Servos for Tiger 60?
When I built my Tiger 60, back several years ago, the only servos I had were Airtronics standard 94012Z's which are the equal to the S3003's that you are talking about. They worked out just fine.
I used Sullivan Goldenrods for the elevator and rudder in place of the stock wood dowls pushrods, the ones with the metal rods on the ends. I anchored the Sullivan tubes at every other former in the fuselage. As it turns out, the standard servos were strong enough to flex the tubes during 'hard' maneuvers so that the elevator and rudder lost efficiency and the plane would sort of flatten out. I removed covering from the flat bottom and epoxied the tubes to each former which fixed the problem. Yep, those servos will work just fine. CGr. |

I just double checked and my servos are actually S3001....will that make a difference?

If those are standard servos, no it will not make a difference.

ORIGINAL: alw041 I just double checked and my servos are actually S3001....will that make a difference? If you already have 4 servos and need one more I will reccomend you to buy a Hitec HS475HB to control the rudder or elvator surface. |
