battery connectors

Several have recommended www.all-battery.com

They appear to have many low-cost options versus TH but most have a Hitec plug. Does this work in Futaba equipment or do I need an adapter?

The hitec male (S) sometimes referred to as the Universal plug as well as the JR male plug and the Airtronics (z) male plug all will plug into Futaba (J) plug rx's and female extensions with no modifications at all.

So the answer to your question is no the Hitec plug will work just fine plugged to your Futaba Rx or switch harness. Now for a Futaba Transmitter pack its a different story, some Futaba's are hard wired and some use the Futaba J plug.

The proprietary plug on all Hitec Tx's are a two conductor special plug so if you order a Tx batt pack with a hitec plug it will not fit Futaba.

I have a Futaba 7C with R617FS receiver and use from all-battery.com the following two batteries without any problems and without any adapters - they just plug right in!

http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=166

http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=886

And they work great! I can easily fly for a couple days with this setup and I have recently flown 36 flights, on a single charge and had over 9.6 and 4.8 volts left in these batteries, albeit some of the flights were short flights.

I always check my voltages between flights though just as a precaution, and I'd recommend you do this as well.

Jim What charger do you use for the NiMH since the Futaba charger is only NiCd

I use the Multiplex. It's a great little charger recommended to me by many. The instructions are the only weakpoint but help on this forum is available to figure anything out. Here's a link http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKSY1&P=ML

It charges NiCads, NiMH, LiPos, Lead Acids and Lithium Ion batteries. I really can't say enough about this charger. You won't go wrong with it.
